:The AEM EMS ( Engine Management System) is the choice for almost all Toyota Supras, many Vipers, NSXs, high HP Mitsu Eclipses on the street. If you need any feedback on the system, you can go on [ www.supraforums.com, ] and do a search on "AEM".
:I am reworking one right now to be a fully plug and play system.
:I know a lot of guys know all about the AEM EMS, with its wonderful tuning capabilities.
:To those that have not heard of it, here ar ethe key features, that makes it the only choice of a standalone:
:- full plug an dplay, no need for rewiring except 2 sesnors
:- no need for MAF sensor ( no airlow restriction, like the HKS VPC)
:- full timing, fuel, idle, cold start control
:- integrated shift light
:- nitrous control ( $400 value)
:- boost control( rpm, gear, speed dependant) ( $500 value)
:- full traction control, better than the racelogic ( $1200 value)
:- no need for S-AFC ($300 value)
:- no need for a Z1, JWT , or even ours ECU( $500 value)
:- no need for new O2 sesnors( $150 value)
:- - comes with a wideband o2 sensor kit( so you can tune it yourself ( $600 immediate savings tha the FJO setup, and $$$$ thousand saved on dyno tuning later)
:etc
:- 2 step rev limiter ( no need for $400 Techtom)
:The savings are more that teh system itself. Just need a laptop, and you are set. The AEM will take 20 minute sto install,a nd it will come with several base maps.
:So, here are the features:
:- speed density based
:- set your own rev limiter
:- choose your own injector size
:- full datalogging control
:- comes with a wideband o2 sensor kit( so you can tune it yourself)
:- automapping
:- nitrous control ( rpm, boost, tps based)
:- 2 step rev limiter ( no need for $400 Techtom)
:
:Any Z with upgraded turbos, planning on some serious power, should look into getting that setup.
:We are not trying to sell them right now, we just want to see how many people would actually think that is the way to go on upgraded Zs. We are building a customers car with that system next month. But this post will help us decide if we should start offering the AEM EMS with our own PnP adapter harness and base maps to the public. All mods with the system will be done according to AEM regulations.
